Privacy Policy

Barnhand ("we", "us") is a farm-management app used by a small, invite-only group of people per farm - typically a farm's owner and the crew who work there. This page explains what information the app collects, why, and how it's handled.

What we collect

• Account info: your name, and an email address or phone number, used to send you a one-time sign-in code and, occasionally, farm-related notifications.
• Farm data you and your team enter: chores, schedules, animal records, feed and medicine logs, notes, and announcements for the farm(s) you belong to.
• Photos you or your team upload to animal records or announcement posts.
• Basic technical data needed to keep you signed in and the app working, such as a session token stored on your device.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, browsing history, or any data from apps other than Barnhand itself, and we do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers of any kind.

Why we collect it

• To sign you in securely without a password (your one-time code).
• To show you and your teammates the shared information for your farm - and only your farm.
• To send you notifications you or your farm's owner have asked for (like an announcement that needs a reminder).
• To keep the service running reliably and to fix problems when something breaks.

Who can see your farm's data

Only people added to a given farm by that farm's owner or a manager can see that farm's data. Each farm's records are kept separate from every other farm using Barnhand. The owner of a farm sets what each teammate is allowed to view or edit.

Who we share information with

We don't sell your information or share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers strictly to run the app, who only see what's needed to do their job:

• An email delivery provider, to send sign-in codes and notifications by email.
• An SMS delivery provider, to send sign-in codes and notifications by text.
• Our cloud hosting provider, which stores the app's database and uploaded photos.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users.

How long we keep it

We keep your farm's data for as long as the farm remains active in Barnhand. If you'd like your personal account information or a specific farm's data deleted, contact us at the address below and we'll take care of it, subject to any records we're legally required to keep.

Your choices

• You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
• You can leave a farm at any time, which removes your access to that farm's data.
• You can turn shift and announcement reminders on or off from within the app.

Children

Barnhand is intended for farm owners and workers, and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
